Briton of Nigerian descent, Chiwetel Ejiofor (Chiwetel Ejiofor), was born in 1974 in London. His father was a doctor, but was killed in a car accident when he was 11 years old. At thirteen he began to participate in school plays. Chiwetel graduated from the London College of Dulwich, after he studied at LAMDA – the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts.
After graduation, the young actor goes to work in London’s National Youth Theatre. Starred in “Othello” at the Theatre «Bloomsbury», in September 1995, and at the Theater Arts in 1996. Later he would become an actor and the Royal National Theatre. In 1997, Ejiofor first played in the film – in Steven Spielberg’s “Amistad» (Amistad). Based on a true story, the film tells the incredible journey of African slaves that capture rabotorgovy ship “Amistad” and trying to return home. The motto of the film was the struggle for their rights and freedom. In 2007, Chiwetel Ejiofor was nominated for the “Golden Globe” for his role in Julian Dzharrolda “Kinky Boots» (Kinky Boots).
