35 Tokyo Motor Show Concern DaimlerChrysler demonstrated research vehicle – a concept car Mercedes-Benz F400 Carving. F400 is equipped with dynamic systems designed to significantly increase the level of active safety and control management.
The main feature is to vary, depending on the driving situation, the collapse of the external angle of the wheels from 0 to 20 degrees. In conjunction with the newly developed tires with asymmetric tread pattern, such a system provides 30% more lateral stability than conventional fixed-tilt suspension wheels and standard tires.
Active control of camber increases the maximum safe lateral acceleration to 1,28 g, increasing the speed and dynamic characteristics of the Mercedes-Benz F400 Carving compared to conventional sports cars by about 28 percent.
The new car is also equipped with a steering system «steer-by-wire», active hydropneumatic suspension, instantly responsive to the condition of the road and the new light devices using fiber glass optics.
High-tech design is packed into the back of dynamic Speedster with a long hood, wide, barely noticeable fairing instead of the windshield, and an amazing double cockpit-style “high-tech”.
