Deborah Kerr, British actress. Real name – Kerr-Trimmer. She studied at the ballet school “Seddlers Wells”, then fascinated by acting, playing Shakespearean productions. Made her film debut in the movie “Major Barbara» (Major Barbara, 1941). Became one of the leading actresses of the English movie, played in the film by Michael Powell’s “The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp» (The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp / Colonel Blimp, 1943, three roles), “Black Narcissus» (Black Narcissus, 1947), and Frank Londer “I see a stranger» (The Adventuress / I See a Dark Stranger, 1946).

After a series of costume blockbusters – “Quo Vadis?» (Quo Vadis ?, 1951), “The Prisoner of Zenda» (The Prisoner of Zenda, 1952) played a dramatic role in the movie unfaithful wife of Fred Zinnemann “Henceforth and forever and ever» (From Now to Eternity 1953, nominated for “Oscar”), which became a hit and has expanded beyond sexual permissiveness in American cinema.
A number of his best roles Kerr performed at the end of a career in the film “Heaven Knows, Mr. Allison» (Heaven Knows, Mr. Allison, 1957), “An unforgettable novel» (An Affair to Remember, 1957), “Separate Tables» (Separate Tables, 1958), “Innocent» (The Innocents, 1961).
Announced his retirement from the cinema in 1969, although from time to time continued to appear on TV and play in the theater. Nominated for an Academy Award six times, but only received an honorary “Oscar” for his creative career in 1994.
