Paul Scofield was born in Herstpirpoynte (England). On stage, he appeared in the age of fourteen, but professional debut in 1944 in Birmingham. Since then, Scofield has become one of the most delicate and revered actors of the classical repertoire, declamatory style preferring intellectual depth introspection and noble restraint.
