Evelyn Angela Bassett was born on 16th August 1958 in New York. When Bassett was a child, she moved with her parents to live in a small town – St. Petersburg in Florida. Together with her sister Evelyn raised by her mother, who worked as a social worker. From early childhood, Angela is very interested in art. Bassett loved to write poetry, sing songs – she was extremely talented and creative child.
At school, the actress was a member of the school rap group, and also sang in the choir and was a cheerleader.
