12 Years A Slave

From director Steve McQueen, I met not too long ago. Just a month ago looked “Shame” and came to the real delight of this picture. Then “Hunger”, well, after I had already burned more passionate desire to see as the new creation of this very interesting director – “12 Years a Slave,” which had high expectations at all. At McQueen already have their own distinctive features that are felt and seen in all three films, he has his own taste and his vision of certain things, in a word – he has his own style, which makes admire, marvel and wonder.

Movies on this subject I’m interested in. Released last year, “Django” blew the audience and now it has been compared to the work of McQueen, but the stories told in these films are very different. Although throughout the film you notice some small similarities, and the music sometimes seems to have been written by the same composer – these films can not be put together. History of Solomon Northup, a little of what is real, it is incredibly tragic, I would even say deplorable, and interesting, with all its cruelty. Once free and happy man gets tricked into slavery. 12 years old, he moved from one host to another, he suffers humiliation, whip, disrespect, eternal screaming, crying and moaning beside him. He’s smart, honest, polite, and it is no different from the others to him. For which he received a punishment? This next story is about how hard life was dark-skinned man in those days any inequality existed for centuries and continues to exist. My favorite types of movies – drama, and this film is the brightest representative of the genre. Terrific script and plot.

Today I discovered Chiwetel Ejiofor. This delightful acting I have not seen. Solomon Northup in his performance is battling the spot. The role of a crazy and very tragic. Solomon’s life was cut halfway, and here we see how he tries to survive in difficult conditions, as changed his life, as he remembers, but forgets his family, as it would be hard and how strong he is. This man lived in hope, believing in a bright outcome. The last 10 minutes literally pull tears, forced to cry, but here they were more than just necessary. I admire such people, always seeing and believing. Ejiofor, I believe, deserves an Oscar for “Best Actor” because it was not just a game. It was something unimaginable, something quite beautiful. Bravo!

Although McQueen movie in only three, it seems, it has become a tradition to invite to the leading role of Michael Fassbender. This, of course, no bad because Fassbender – amazing actor, a very difficult and all of its characters are interesting enough. This time Fassbender impresses with its lively and so quality game. The character he angry, quite dark and even repulsive, but for all that he has performed his role as well as always – great. I did not expect from him something bad, and McQueen are very grateful for another chance to see this actor. The cast of this time and at all happy. Names such as Benedict Cumberbatch and Brad Pitt paint this film even more. Both actors appeared on the screen a little, but managed to make an impression. And unknown to me, and I think not only Lupita Nyong’o has high hopes. Her character – a strong and brave woman, I really liked. The whole atmosphere of the XIX century transferred audience and the actors in this environment, it is seen very, very cozy.

The musical line is gorgeous. This time Hans Zimmer himself participated in the creation of this painting. In addition to his music in the film sounds a lot of good reasons. Particularly pleasing songs sung by slaves during operation. It sounds like something special. I recommend listening to the soundtrack Solomon, this amazing song. At this time, just like to commend the work of the operator, who filmed the rest of the work McQueen. Their duet, their distinctive features are very visible, and I like it.
