Vergara spotted a photographer when she was walking on a Colombian beach. Soon it rained tempting offers to work in modeling and television – and she decided to stay the course. Vergara moved to Bogot? at age 20, where she worked as a model on the catwalks and television. From 1995 to 1999. she and Fernado Fiore became a leading «Fuera de Serie», the series in which she had to go to exotic places around the world (Americans compare this show with a travel show «Wild On!»). The show itself took place on the international Spanish-language television network Univision, which made a star Sofia Hispanic market and attracted the attention of American audiences.
