Lee Grant was born on 31 October 1927, in New York and was the daughter of the Eastern European Jewish immigrants – opment (n?e Haskell), a teacher and Abraham Rosenthal, a realtor and also a teacher. At the age of four grant was given to the ballet studio, where he carefully studied the art of ballet. Subsequently, the actress has performed in New York Metropolitan Opera.
As a teenager, Lee Grant made her debut on the stage of Broadway, showing real acting talent and earning praise eminent theater directors.
She debuted in film in a detective film «Detective Story» and at the same time was nominated for “Oscar” (in the category of Best Actress). In the same period it became the owner of the Cannes Film Festival Award – Best Actress Award.
