James Patrick Caviezel was born September 26, 1968 in Mount Vernon (Washington, USA), in a Catholic family. Besides him, the family had four children. During college he played basketball, but a leg injury put an end to the dream of a sports career. In 1991, Caviezel debuted in a very small role in the film Gus Van Sant’s “My Own Private Idaho” – with this and started his way in the film. However, by far the largest and most serious role of Jim Caviezel is the image of Jesus Christ in Mel Gibson’s ambitious staging “The Passion of the Christ” was released in theaters in 2004.
