She was born in Gravesend, Kent, UK. Full name – Gemma Arterton Christina.

Studied at Gravesend Grammar School for Girls in saws Road and attended courses dramatics. At age 16 she left school and went to college, but there studying for a short time, entered the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art has received a grant to study. In 2007 graduated from the academy.

In 2007, Arterton got her first role in a TV drama by Steven Poliakoffa “Conquest of Mary”, when I was in drama academy. Later, in July, there was her debut on the stage, she played Rosaline in Shakespeare’s “Love’s Labour’s Lost” at the theater “Globe” in London.

Gemma’s film debut took place in 2007 in the comedy Oliver Parker and Barnaby Thompson’s “classmates”. This was followed by a role in the comedy “Three for departure” (2008).

Arterton starred in the James Bond film “Quantum of Solace” (2008). After the film’s release in October 2008, Gemma Arterton has become the face of the new fragrance “Bond Girl 007” from the “Avon”.

Actress also appeared in the crime films of the famous director Guy Ritchie, “RocknRolla” (2008) and the comedy by Richard Curtis film history of DJs British pirate radio show 60 “Rocked” (2009).

Among recent projects Gemma participate in such films as “Clash of the Titans” (2010) and “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” (2010).
