Robert Redford (full name – Charles Robert Redford Jr.) was born on August 18, 1937 in Santa Monica (California, USA). Educated at the University of Colorado.
 
 
After studying at the university, he traveled to Europe. Back in the US, Robert Redford studied at the theater artist at the Pratt Institute in New York, then graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, where he studied acting.
In the late 50’s – early 60-ies of the actor began to appear in the comedy television show. Around the same time, he began acting in television and – “Maverick,” “Twilight Zone,” “Alfred Hitchcock Presents.” Robert Redford’s acting debut took place in the movie “War Hunt”, filmed in 1962. The first success came to him after the movie “Pursuit”.
In 1969, Redford became one of the leading American actor who played a major role in the Western “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.” Among the successful work of the actor roles in such films as “The Way We Were” with Barbra Streisand, “The Sting” with Paul Newman, “Three Days of the Condor,” “All the President’s Men” with Dustin Hoffman, “Indecent Proposal” with Demi Moore, “Quiz Show “.

One of his sons, David James Redford, became a screenwriter, and his daughter, Amy Hart Redford, became an actress. With his wife divorced Robert Redford in 1985.

In 1995, the magazine “Empire” actor put on the 4th place in the “hundreds of the sexiest stars in film history.” In 1997, the same “Empire”, put Redford on 29th place in the “hundred most popular movie stars.”
