Burl Ives (Burl Ives, full name – Burl Icle Ivanhoe Ives) was born in 1909 not far from Hunt City, Illinois (Hunt City, Illinois), the family of Levi Ives (Levi Ives) and Cordelia White (Cordelia White), except where he had 6 more children. Since the 1930s Ives traveled to the United States, on the road where it was possible earning and performing his own songs with a banjo in small bars. One musician even landed in jail when police in Mona, Utah (Mona, Utah) took him for a beggar.
In the mid-1930s BÑ‘rl began performing live on radio in the state of Indiana (Indiana). Subsequently, the musician still received a bachelor’s degree, having studied for two years at the University of Indiana (Indiana State University).
In 1940, the musician began performing on the radio in his own show ‘The Wayfaring Stranger’, which was named in honor of his eponymous song. Over the next 10 years of his songs ‘Foggy, Foggy Dew’, ‘Blue Tail Fly’ and ‘Big Rock Candy Mountain’ became a classic American folk songs that she knew most of the country.
At the beginning of 1942 BÑ‘rla drafted, almost all of his service he spent on military bases. During the service, he even starred in the show ‘This Is the Army’. In September 1943, the guy got promoted to corporal and was forced to resign for health reasons.

In 1950 the musician was suspected of conspiring with the Communists; this happened mainly due to the fact that he actively communicated with Pete Seeger (Pete Seeger), which, as it later turned out, was the only counterpart Ives. In order to fully prove their loyalty BÑ‘rlu had to be tested before the Committee on Un-American Activities (House Unamerican Activities Committee).
During the 50s BÑ‘rl played a lot of movies, among the most famous movies of that time were the paintings’ East of Eden ‘(East of Eden),’ Cat on a Hot Tin Roof ‘(Cat on a Hot Tin Roof),’ Love under Elms’ (Desire Under the Elms) and many others.
In 1960 Ives almost entirely devoted himself to music. Thus, in 1962, he became the author of three songs that were very popular at the time – ‘A Little Bitty Tear’, ‘Call Me Mister In-Between’ and ‘Funny Way of Laughing’.
In 1970, the actor starred in the film ‘The Man Who Wanted to Live Forever’, and two years later he appeared in an episode of ‘Night Gallery’.
1971 year was marked for divorce from musician Helen, but after a couple of months later, he married again; this time his choice was Dorothy Koster Paul (Dorothy Koster Paul).
In 1975, the University of Pennsylvania (University of Pennsylvania) has awarded a musician for his contribution to the music world.
April 14, 1995-year Burl Ives died from cancer at the age of 85 years. He was buried in his hometown Hunt City, Illinois.
