Louis Gossett Jr. (Louis Cameron Gossett, Jr.) was born in 1936 in New York, the son of a maid and a porter. In 1980, Gosset starred in ‘non-US’ comedy Nicholas Zhessnera ‘The day I left, the night was rain’ (It Rained All Night the Day I Left). Two years later, in 1982, he got, though not a major, but one of his most famous roles – the character of cruel instructor Foley melodrama Taylor Hackford “Officer and a Gentleman ‘(An Officer and a Gentleman). In the film, spoke about the school of marine pilots, played by Richard Gere and Debra Winger, but it Gosset received for his role Oscar as a performer ‘best male supporting actor’. It is known that the actor Louis Gossett was married at least twice, both marriages ended in divorce.
