Vera Farmiga was born August 6, 1973, in Essex County, New Jersey, in the family, where in addition she had six more children. She was the eldest child. Her father worked as a computer network administrator, and his mother worked for a long time school teacher (both Ukrainian immigrants).
Vera was raised in a closed Ukrainian (although American) community, which did not speak in English as long as the girl was six years old. Then Vera entered the Ukrainian Catholic school in Newark and began touring with the ensemble of Ukrainian folk dancing, which was shown first. In 1991, the year Farmiga graduated from the Central Regional High School Hunterdon.
Despite the fact that the original Faith wanted to link their lives with optics, she enrolled in a higher education institution other direction – to the Syracuse University School of Fine Arts and Performing Arts.
