She made her debut on the professional stage in the role of the Virgin Mary. From 1957 till 1961, the year Judy worked with the troupe Theatre Old Vic, chalked up the role of Ophelia (), Germa (), Mary (Twelfth Night>) and Juliet in Zeffirelli (not to be confused with the movie).
The last performance was shown at the Venice Festival and brought Judy .
Can hardly be called roles in the plays of Shakespeare, which she played. Easier, perhaps, on the contrary. In 1988, Judi Dench first played the role of the First Lady of the British Empire and received for this work very unexpected bonus. University of Warwick, Birmingham, York and Loughborough handed Judy honorary doctorates.
