George Chakiris – comes from a family of Greek immigrants, was born September 16, 1934 in Norwood, Ohio. The boy grew talented, had a good dance and vocal. As a teenager, he participated in the shooting and his first film debut took place in 13 years. He sang in the choir for the film “The Love Song” (1947) with Katharine Hepburn in the title role.
World cinema bewitched George. He often took part in the film as a singer or a chorus dancer in dance productions. Growing up, Chakiris takes a job as a clerk, and in the evenings studying dance, takes acting lessons and vocal.
In 1953, he first worked with Marilyn Monroe. It was the work in the movie “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes”, where he dances in the ballet troupe.
