RIV (Reeve), Christopher was born on 25 September 1952. New York, USA, is an American actor. His mother, Barbara Johnson worked for many years as a reporter of a local newspaper in Princeton, New Jersey. Father – Franklin Reeve – novelist, professor at the University in Connecticut, where he taught creative writing.
He studied drama at Cornell and the Juilliard theater schools (in the latter – under the direction of John Hauzmena).
Played in the theater, including Broadway, starred in the soap opera “Love of Life” before 1978 was selected from 200 candidates for the title role in the popular “Superman» (Superman) (played in three series – Superman II, 1980; Superman III in 1983 and Superman IV: The Quest For Peace, 1987, the last of them was even co-wrote and directed the plot of the second group). But the comic book image largely prevented the actors who seek to play ironic roles in “Deathtrap» (Deathtrap, 1982) and “Monsignor» (Monsignor, 1982); “Switching Channels» (Switching Channels, 1988); “Without fanfare» (Noises Off, 1991); “Deprived of words» (Speechless, 1994), to appear in a more romantic as in the films “The Bostonians» (The Bostonians, 1984); “Anna Karenina» (Anna Karenina, 1985) and “The Aviator» (The Aviator, 1985) and in a dramatic role in the film “Street rascal» (Street Smart, 1987); “Sea Wolf» (The Sea Wolf, 1993).
In March 1995, after falling off a horse during her jump over the barrier, Reeve miraculously survived, but was left permanently paralyzed. Nevertheless, six months later, he continued his work in the public fund “Creative Coalition”, took part in the Oscar ceremony in 1997, is in a wheelchair, and he made his debut as a director of TV drama “In the twilight» (In The Gloaming). Planned to deliver and withdraw himself in the new film adaptation of the film “Rear Window” of the wheelchair-bound man who became an unwitting witness to a crime.
In May 1998, was released autobiography Riva.
