The talented American actor, winner of the “Oscar” – an extremely prestigious award – for the best performance of one of the male roles in the fifties of the last century.
 
Ernest Borgnine was born on 24 January 1917 in Connecticut in a family of Italian immigrants (by the way, the real name of the actor – Ermes Effron Bornino). Parents moved to the United States from Italy – settled there. When their son Ernest was two years old his father and mother of the future actor separated, and the boy with her that for some time returned to Italy. After living there for five years, they returned to Connecticut, where Ernest enrolled in secondary school.
After school, Ernest joined – in the navy of the United States – and served from 1935 until the 1941st. Ernest was released from military commitments, but – not for long. World War II began and Borgnine was forced to continue to serve. In total, the actor was in the military for about ten years – until the victory of 1945. Ernest was discharged in a high rank, with the rank of assistant gunner first class. Among the awards, which was awarded Borgnine, there were plenty of Medal of Honor.
After military service, the actor has decided to continue their education. He entered the
Randall drama school in Connecticut and graduated from it – quite successfully.
Ernest later found work in the theater of Virginia, where he became a talent to perform different roles. The action of the actor noticed and in 1949 he made his Broadway debut Borgnine – in one of the trendy productions.
Two years later, the actor went to Los Angeles, where after some time gained a reputation as quite good character actor. Moreover, at about the same time Ernest was awarded the most prestigious award – the “Oscars”. The prize was awarded for the best actor actor execution.
By the way, Ernest Borgnine is currently the only one now living actors – winner of “Oscar”, awarded the prize to 1960.
Since 1999, the year Borgnine actively voiced cartoons as well – frequently appeared on radio. His work has been extremely productive.
